From an apothecary's medicinal elixir of long life to an internationally renowned liqueur consumed on the world's finest tables, Chartreuse has had a fabulous journey worthy of the greatest epics, steeped in history. This myth in popular culture, on which time has no effect, will be the star of our next auction on March 4, 5 and 6, 2023 "Once upon a time ... Chartreuse", a French and historical collection that will offer all the production of the Pères Chartreux, from 1840 to today. It is within the framework of the presentation of this exceptional sale - a bit monomaniacal! - that we wish to offer you this privileged moment of sharing.

For this, Pascaline Lepeltier welcomes us at home in New York. Successively Best Worker of France in the sommelier category and Best Sommelier of France, author of the beautiful book Mille Vignes: Penser le vin de demain recently published, she is a lover of the Chartreuse.

We invite you on a trip around carefully selected bottles from a wide range of production periods, an exploration almost as profitable as a pilgrimage to the Grande Chartreuse Monastery!

2011 versus 2014

To launch the traditional cycle of the tasting season, we are honored to welcome winemaker and friend Jean-Michel Chartron, fifth generation of happy owners of the Chartron estate in Puligny-Montrachet. In this beautiful Burgundy, on this sacred land, Jean-Michel and his sister develop a love of nature, preserves the emblematic terroirs and sublimates them on the most beautiful parcels of the region.

Today we propose a "match" between two attractive vintages chosen by Jean-Michel himself for their generosity in tasting :
2011, a vintage with very nice surprises. White wines characterized by a great aromatic purity. Close to their peak, they express today all the richness of their terroir in their balance and in all finesse.
After 74, 84, 94, and 2004, 2014 is the first vintage in 4 to really smile to Burgundy. The white wines are dominated by notes of white fruit, dried fruit and citrus. Their mouth, fresh and precise, expresses pleasant mineral notes.

On two charming vintages, luck will smile at the participants who will be able to discover the monopoles of this great domain on the Clos de la Pucelle and Clos des Chevaliers. Jean-Michel has given us the immense pleasure of bringing these wines exclusively in magnums and from the Domaine's family reserve, what's more!

To your palates, to your predictions!

The Reine des liqueurs is a mystery and will remain so. It is the magic of silence, secrecy and loyalty. Chartreuse is a recipe handed down for centuries between monks, which many have tried to imitate without ever succeeding. The complexity is such that no one has ever succeeded in discovering all the plants that compose it.

Save the date on February 16, 2022, for a dinner around 10 Chartreuses, in the presence of the collector of the “Once upon a time… Chartreuse” sale, who will invite you to taste different periods (1951 to 2018) that the Chartreux produced, accompanied by the extraordinary anecdotes that only the collector can tell you.

Whether you are a fan of Chartreuse or want to discover the world of this liqueur de longue vie (according to the saying), the tasting around dishes to share, made to measure by Mathieu Escoffier and his team, will be a timeless moment that only the Pères Chartreux' liqueur can offer.

A few weeks ago, a cycling event was held in Singapore around the very famous "Tour de France". Out of curiosity, we immersed ourselves in the history of the first "Tour de France" founded by Henri Desgranges in 1903.

After reading, we realized that the cyclists had crossed the most beautiful wine regions of France starting from Paris. It's our turn, for one evening, to go through five of the most beautiful French wine regions surveyed by these mythical athletes.

Domaine de Châteauvieux

Tasting old vintages of Château d'Yquem is like an invitation to the senses. In perpetual evolution, this legendary wine crosses time and eras while always keeping its balance and harmony, and this is its strength.

It reinvents, modifies and mutates itself for the greatest pleasure of wine lovers who are always surprised. Not knowing what to expect, the connoisseur can never get bored and all the interest of this great château lies in this enigma contained in each "nectar".

A quick eye at an ode to light through a yellow, orange, sometimes gold note, a smell of exotic fruits, vanilla, to the taste, an unlimited palette - between dried fruits and spices - for a finish always delicate and noble.

A sustainable agriculture, limited yields, an exceptional « micro-climat », a careful and meticulous wine-making process: all these factors create a synergy. Some people think that a Yquem should be enjoyed when it is old, others like it when it is young; in fact, this wine can be tasted in different ways, but at all stages of its life.

Who has really succeeded in unlocking the secret of Château d'Yquem? The mystery hovers over a wine with an unparalleled personality. Through this selection of vintages, the oldest of which is a hundred years old, we suggest that you risk a surprise and have fun.

To embellish this tasting with a little lightness in the bubbles, we propose the classic but mythical Cristal Roederer and Krug Vintage.

The wines will be presented by Mr. Dominique Fornage in the exceptional setting of the Domaine de Châteauvieux, sublimated by his chef Mr. Philippe Chevrier.

Bordeaux 2017

Who said that 7-year vintages were a bad dream for the Bordeaux region? Behind this specter, several somewhat disappointing decades before finally being able to ward off the spell.

2017, an early year, the year in which nature took over in this region. Numerous episodes of frost, drastic conditions for the cultivation of vines, but the beacons of the region have finally tamed the events to make a vintage rare in quantity but very fresh, fruity and delicate.

Through a rather complete panel of Bordeaux appellations, in the most talented estates of their time, we invite you to discover this vintage. These few great names, always demanding in their selection of grapes, offer sure values, to be tasted without moderation.

These great containers, once well rested out of sight, only ask to express themselves today. With this 2017 vintage, Bordeaux wines are returning to their traditional and original purpose: to be drunk!

As a participant, you will of course have precedence during the next few days to place your orders.
